I'm currently at chapter 620 in LOTM, and there hasn't been a single serious opponent. The opponents are either strong and stupid or just stupid and weak. Regardless of the situation, everything benefits the mc, and there are far too many plot holes. Generally speaking, it's not bad, but it's not good either.

You're talking about the characters in Lotm being stupid when all the side SS characters have no attributes, depth, ideas, goals, perspectives, and perspectives in the story. I think almost all your criticisms about SS are misguided. I’ve never understood this idea of criticizing a fictional novel for a lack of side character perspective. It is a story that is meant and written to follow Sunny. Just because the author doesn’t give you POV chapters of a side characters thoughts and actions every other chapter does not mean they do not have goals or ideas. The story (or Sunny himself) just isn’t following those. Plans, schemes, and development are enacted without Sunny’s knowledge, and therefore ours. We see the results as their effects on Sunny’s life. It’s a prime example of show, don’t tell. To say that no characters have intelligence or capability to plan is just downright ignorant. If you truly mean what you say about the lack of character goals and intelligence, then I would say you’ve either hardly read the novel or didn’t bother to do even a second of thinking for yourself.

In ss there is really little information about the characters but in lotem they are just boring and as stupid as monkeys. It's better to have none than bad ones. If you haven't found the plot holes, read the book again, there really are a lot of them. I really like to read and take my time with it, not just skim it. There are a lot of little things that are important to the main story and affect it and aren't true or are changed after the fact. I STILL HAVE TO FINISH READING LOTM.

Almost every character in the story has its own distinctive features that distinguish it from the rest of the characters, and every character in the story has a mind that thinks of it, contrary to the cliché nonsense.
