Author keeps it interesting. Some parts can be a bit over explained but I feel it’s all worth it in the end. I’d give it 4. 5 stars if I could.
People complain about the pacing but honestly it works just fine for me. Even 1000 chapters in he’s not completely overpowered in his verse and still has plenty of enemies stronger than him. Everything about the novel is good but I cringe a sh*t ton at the edgy parts.
7/10. It is decent, you can read and enjoy your time to the fullest of 7/10. Some pacing issues, and some deliberate misleading to achieve "plot twist" that all readers saw it coming despite the misleading, and some unnecessary chapters solely focusing on enriching the "world building" and failing spectacularly. My advice, skip all chapters if it's the antagonist's PoV, because the payoff is just not there. You can't relate to them at all, and that makes you angrier in the end because you just wasted your time reading a bunch of b*llsh*t.
Yeah so my entire thing got deleted so I’m only going through a short listing cuz I’m tired. This novel is not as good as LOTM 1 or 2, and it can compete with SS barely idk about RI tho (only 400 chaps into RI) it has some awkward pacing and you can get a bit irritated but please each arc is a rollercoaster although one is especially irritating (you’ll encounter is in the 500’s I think) but otherwise it’s great so far I’m on chapter 700 or so. Character development is awesome and if you think he’s a mainstream hero protagonist YOU ARE SO WRONG. That’s all I’ll say but yeah. It can get very cliche and sometimes things feel forced, but this novel overall is awesome, the author could go places with more practice and time I’m sure. Don’t hate until you get through the early chapters and yeah the protagonist can have some moments that are stupid but most of the time the author explains the reasoning later on in about 5-15 chapters or just the next one after so I love it and I would recommend it. It’s a slow burn novel tho so take your time and enjoy the ride
I'd give this novel a 3. 5 if I could. It's a novel I feel I have nothing but complaints about but I have still read all of the current released chapters. The good is that the overall works is pretty cool and a lot of the ideas are interesting. The bad is that the overall theme of the story is 1 note and some of the pacing and POV chapters just feel like filler. This whole novel is a massive trigger warning. If something triggers you I'd bet it's in the novel because it's nothing but tragedy. Literally there is not a single character with anything happy in their back story. In fact I would argue in all released chapters only one good thing had happened. If you do decide to read this make sure you're ready for every enemy and small child to have a tragic story.
Honestly, I already lost interest, I almost left the story at chapter 200 when I learned that the war lasts until chapter 1075. Now they incredibly empower Charles, they discover by chance the identity of VarianNot only that, but they also hypnotize Evander to attack Varian, this is just for the drama and lengthening the story, I let it drop. Honestly, this story lacks the drama and apocalyptic label, because that's literally all it's about.
It might not be on the tier of SS and LoTM, however it still deserves the 5 star rating, it has had its ups and downs but in all honesty it was all for it for this moment, it's not even the end of the novel although from what I've understood it is coming soon, hopefully the good writing will continue till then, it definitely belongs to my personal list of "Masterpieces" like Author's POV

Whats SS?
(TLDR at the end of the review. ) I'm having the hardest time reviewing this novel, probably the hardest time out of any novel on this site so far. At times this novel peaks at 5/5 easily but other times it crashes down to 1/5, for one simple reason. This author for whatever reason loves to waste chapters with expositions for side characters that don't matter; don't signify any importance to the story besides trying to grab a few tear jerkers. By that I mean not even side characters some are one off characters that take up between 1-5 chapters. If I had to throw a number out there you probably can skip between 100-300 chapters of this "filler" cr*p. Not once with the 10+ other novels I've read on this site have I even skipped a chapter, but with this story I just couldn't bare reading through those slogs. It's sad really, this story is sooooo good but due to the author's either bad personal taste or just inexperience ruins the mood and flow of the story ALOT. In one part of this novel the MC is missing/(recap time) and around 40 chapters go by filled with this exposition cr*p, I'll be blunt if I was reading it while it was releasing, I'd probably have dropped the novel at this part. What also irks me is how some antagonists have more plot armor then the MC, ranging from random BS powerups to just surviving stuff they shouldn't just so the MC has someone to face. One of these characters also takes up like 30-40 chapter's themselves which are very hard to read. A part of me wants to rate this novel as 5/5 due to the interactions and development between Varian and his main side characters/"friends ;)", and the action in the fighting scenes. both those points are very solid. The world building is also fantastic. Romance is written very well and not forced, the girls are also not just some c*ck-sleeves that don't have any personality, they actually have depth to their characters and make the story enjoyable. Butttttt, i just can't, if i rate this 5/5 it'd be standing toe to toe with the likes of shadow slave, Kidnapped dragons and other top 10 rankers on this site, it's not though. (TLDR): if you don't care about skipping/skimming through chapters this is a very solid choice to read, it has amazing character interactions, amazing character development, great action/fighting scenes, great world building, good romance.
very good novel! the author accelerated a little for a long time, building the world and developing our boy, but the result is wonderful! I really liked the secondary characters, almost everyone has their own peculiarity, they can be easily imagined. the fights are good - not drawn out, interesting and dynamic. the romantic part is also very good - the slow development of Varian's relationship with the girls against the backdrop of war and disaster is very refreshing to the story. there are a couple of very decent 18+ scenes, but, fortunately, the author was not fond of this and made a beautiful erotic spectacle. It was a bit difficult for me to read closer to 1000 chapters, there are a lot of sad scenes. But then, when Varian went into space, he became an absolutely amazing insane fighter and prudent strategist. His charisma is mesmerizing, his actions cause admiring laughter and smiles. Ohh! he is absolutely not a villain or an anti-hero, but he is not a hero of the light either. Therefore, fans of Shan or Asher, I recommend to pass by. This year, this novel and the Shadow Slave, new chapters of which I look forward to daily. 5*+!
A great novel to read. Both the world building and character development are better than expected. The main problem would be the over-plot-armoring the enemies. Sometimes i just wished for the arc to end and the enemy to be killed. It felt as if the author milked the enemies. Thats the reason i took away 1 star. Other than that its pretty fine 👍
Don’t listen to this guy, after the arc he’s talking about it gets much better but you’ll know which arc
