I remember reading the first chapter waaaay back, hating everything about it, and dropping. Does this actually get good later on or is it just slop?

I got to 700+ and the he/him/his for EVERY character above rank 4-5 is so annoying. "The goddess of life decended and 'HE' 'HIM' was looking around 'HE' 'HIM'." "The ice demoness finally ranked up, now 'HE' 'HIS' strength will contribute more" This is such a longstanding translation fakup that it aint even funny. This was originally only supossed to be used for a few powerfull races at demigod level that were shapeless and changed looks based on the viewer. But since the name of the race was "god spirit" And a power rank was called "god spirit" The logicall thing ofcorse was to use the 'he' 'him' 'his' from the ambigious race of energy people on EVERY GOD D*MN person

And due to how powerful everybody is it’s only that. ‘HE’ slashed ‘HIM’ with ‘HIS’ sword. Is what it feels like reading it. It replaces every pronoun with male pronouns which makes it so hard to read

In the current ones he is married and only has one wife for now but he will probably have more because he visited the planet of his previous life and his old girlfriend appeared and it seems that she hasn't forgotten him, that part was really cute but don't expect romance or more adult chapters... The MC just wants to conquer all the races.

Don't listen to the haters. this is a great novel. great worldbuilding and concept, detailed items, MC becomes OP similar to Chu Kuangren, Li Qiye, etc. Personally enjoying it a lot. From my experience in reading novels I've found great works that people rated poorly and trash works that people rated greatly. Read the novel yourself. First 1-2 whatever chapters, if you are interested keep reading, otherwise don't. Always take reviews with a grain of salt, people who dislike the novel are more likely to leave reviews.

in order to enjoy this novel, don't use real life logic, think of it like he's playing clash of clans or an rts game because there are so many plotholes otherwise

Too much chinese, too much nationalisms. The story is about people from the whole planet but for some absurd reason they ALL have chinese names. Let alone the extreme repetition of chinese names, this is really racist.

Unfortunately this is practically a must in novels, be it Chinese, Korean, Japanese or any other language, you will rarely find something with multiple countries involved and most authors are stinky otakus who never leave their homes, so their worldview is very limited to their country, between researching names, stories and mythologies from all over the world or just using your own country, which do you think authors prefer? ._."

yes and no, many novel depict Earth, but they show at least bits and pieces of other cultures. Either you limit your worldbuilding to your personal knowledge, or you get some info, otherwise you'll be reducing the entire humanity to a single country. If it was only european styled i would have complained in the same way, when this happens the author either risks of sounding racist or unprofessional. In this case is really a pity, this novel is fine: some tweaks here and there and it could be of much higher quality

It’s not racist but its a narrowed view of the world

      • Asters 1

isn't that the same? i mean, if your narrow view makes you shun every other culture (that you consider inferior to yours), doens't that make you clearly racist? to make an example: i'm italian, and the cultural heritage of italy goes back to the Roman Empire and even Ancient Greece (also other cultures like fenician but i digress), that both were probably two of the most important pillars for the development of Humanity. Does that mean that i consider my culture the only one? for f*ck sake no! Personally i'm a s*ck*r for japan, but in a broad sense i consider other ancient cultures like Egypt, India and China a must know, simply because i'm f*ck*ng human and i relate to ALL human history. it's not like being italian makes me better than other people. THIS is the reason because i consider Chinese supremacist behavior racist. That said sorry bro for the long answer XD

No I disagree your confusing racism with cultural isolationism racism is the active thought of seeing a certain groups as inferior the author doesn’t bring any other racial heritage into his writing instead he’s keeping his writing within the parameters of his main audiences familiar geography and comfortability which is the Asian audience.

You sure? A secondary character is an American actress and at one point Pompeus is mentioned; there's even a Princess that has a non-chinese name but chinese features, and it's immediately fixed with her having a "true name" in chinese. From my perspective it's the fact that during the novel there's a constant feeling of cultural domination, like the scenario represent the whole world but china is so important that everything else fades. You said it's like this because the aim is the Asian audience, but Asia is not only China! Chinese culture is a little part of the whole Asian history: what about India, Korea and Japan? If this novel was ambiented in China it would have been perfect, probably having other cultural influence on a chinese setup would have felt strange. Here instead there's only china representing Earth. I get not being familiar with other cultures, but not mentioning other asian cultures seems like a passive racism: no hate, but also no mention, like it's not worth it

I agree with this I have no issue if you want to have nationalism in a story only pertaining to countries, however the moment you make it to include the entire human race as a whole is beyond silly. I mean think about the first time the gods and heros of the human race are mentioned they only pertained to what I would consider the Chinese pantheons, why couldn't you include other pantheons from the entire race, it wouldn't hurt your world building and could even have more people take a moment to expand the horizons when they see a god or hero they don't know allowing your readers to experience the culture of ya know the HUMAN RACE anyways all my own opinion so ya know take it with a grain of salt

i think you're right about this, there are so many myths in human culture: Egypt, Greece, India, Japan, Arabia, they are an incredible source of stories, gods and heroes. Also talking about heroes is absolute nonsense to not mention Ancient Greece and Middle Age Europe (both west and east), one was the time where the concept of hero and gods was most popular, the other was where concept of Knighthood was born and the time when "heroic deeds" were an aspiration of every child. It's a pity
