Power couple probably means that the female lead in the novel is strong and has a lot of influence in the plot, probably up there with him in power.

Thanks for the info. I always saw power couple tag in BL novels, so whenever I saw this tag. I thought it's not for me

So far the novel is quite entertaining, 150 chapters in and I don't see anything really wrong with it. I would have liked the MC to be more involved in combat and maybe more powerful than the rest as he is more like a strategos so far, commanding troops and trying to stablish himself as a power in this world. The women in the novel are not bland, they have personality and the MC is not a simp or overly lascivious, he explicitly said he knew greeks were kind of sus and didn't want to be part of any gay greek stuff like kissing dudes and such so if it's not your cup of tea then I think you are safe.

Logged in to an account just to comment on this novel. I've read numerous web novels over the years, specifically kingdom building ones are my favorite. From Tales of the Reincarnated Lord to fantasy kingdom builders like Game of the World Tree (also peak). This novel isn't perfect but it is undoubtedly one of the best kingdom building historical novels I have ever read. The author has obviously spent a lot of time researching the historical period of the novel and the development and world building is top tier. This is one of the favorite top 5 novels of all time. Anyone considering reading this, please give it a shot. It's amazing and the payoff when he finally becomes a powerhouse is extremely satisfying. This novel checks all of the boxes when it comes to kingdom building, even focusing on mercantile trade, rations, army formations, education and everything. The side characters are fleshed out and great as well. I even used a ancient map to follow the legend Davos

It's tough to find something this in-depth and well written but.. You can try: 1. Chronicals of the Primordial Wars 2. Game of the World Tree 3. Release That Witch 4. Holy Roman Empire 5. Tales of the Reincarnated Lord (discontinued) 6. The Mirror Legacy 7. Tree of Aeons (Western)

How does the war of Theonia v Rome & Carthage end? Kind of annoying that that’s where the chapters stop.

From what I can remember, this is around halfway/ 2/3rds through the book. Rome is annexed and Carthage is reduced to a small state since the Theonians support the states around it. Especially after carthage had its navy beat multiple times, it was inevitably removed as a power since it relied on maritime trade. The last few arcs concentrate more on the expansion in greece, and eventually persia.

So Theonia ends up conquering mainland Greece? In different wars against Sparta, Athens and so on?

Yeah, the last expedition is Persia, and the last chapter is actually pretty interesting too but i'll leave that for you.. Unfortunately no idea if anyone will ever pick up this translation again, and the MTL is a little difficult to read and get used to. The persia final arc is pretty rushed too and relatively easy for Theonia with millions of troops. I should say that some states like Athens were not directly annexed but joined the league headed by Theonia, and instead Sparta whom were stubborn instead got pretty much annexed. other greek states either joined the league and followed Theonias orders or directly joined Theonia.
