Summary

5 years ago, Earth was subject to an event now known as the “World Awakening”.

At that time, the world completely changed. Mana awakened in the world, gates began opening, and a holographic screen showed up in front of the eyes of every human that outlined their “status”.

Each individual was given a talent to start with, ranging from simple abilities like enhanced eyesight to insane fantasy stuff like pyrokinesis.

And within this myriad of abilities, Damien awakened a spatial affinity with the skill “short-distance teleportation”.

At first, he was excited, thinking about intense battles and gaining great power, but the reality was quick to shoot him down.

His ability only worked in the area 10 meters around himself, and his physical stats were insanely weak, leaving him tired after using his ability a couple of times.

Disillusioned by his weakness, Damien lived a quiet life doing anything he could to meet ends meet, until one day, everything changed.

Damien was betrayed and thrown into a gate, left to fend for himself in a labyrinth of beasts.

Something snapped in him that day. He refused to stay weak and keep his head down any longer.

When he emerged from the darkness, he found himself in a new world with no idea how to return to earth.

However, he wasn’t the same kid he was when he first fell.

    I am now in chapter 172. At first, it was going well, it had a good story, but in these new chapters, I am very bored and it seems that the author has completely forgotten the system. Do you think it is worth continuing or not?

    I've dropped this like 3 times because the writing goes through spurts of absolute gold only to be dragged down immensely every few dozen chapters. The MC's constant comparisons of their life to anime cliches feels like the author blatantly saying that their work is similar to anime and therefore it is worth reading. It's a good read if you turn half your brain off

    I tried giving this another go since I had nothing else to read. And after reading just a few chapters the mc's arrogance just soared through the sky. I can get behind the fact that he never actually tried hard enough to get stronger even though he was in a desperate situation with his mother being sick and his father being missing and all. But right when he saw a tiny little bit of progress he literally went ahead and said " I am someone even the heavens must look up to. How dare I be controlled by a mere beast instinct". After reading that I just gently closed my eyes and the only word that was screaming through my mind was cringe. It makes me wonder are these authors a different breed than us? Just why? I don't know if anyone will agree with me or not but I feel like the one thing that you must make sure if you want any story to be successful is by making a good main character. But the author failed in that miserably. PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME IF I SHOULD STILL CONTINUE.

      I will say that gets toned down around chapter 30ish, alongside a lot of the earlier cringe such as making constant references to anime and horrific jokes. I managed to read til around chapter 850 without getting too bored after getting through that initial, very painful part of the early novel, so I’d say to give it a chance. If I really had to choose a starting point, it’d be some time after he starts developing his (sorta spoiler ahead but not really) “sword arts” that it gets actually interesting.

        Well I don't hate it since I can put up with the arrogance currently in the 1600s it's the normal extremely special mc stuff though right now I'm cooling off after seeing mc 'give out' talent 😮‍💨😮‍💨

    so I was looking for an novel where the main character have a system called the v.o.i.d system that gives him an adaptative fighting style (down the line in the story there is another character he met in a flying island that has an imitation fighting style) , if any of you find lad remember something about it

      Try "demon hunter" or "amber sword". There r a bunch of novels like that lying around 400-1000 rank. I havent touched top 100 novels for almost a year. Ranking system is bull sh*t. I realized that when i found "im the god of trickery" smth got on top 7. And i dropped that sh*t right in chap 1. "The dark hero" just furthermore confirms my idea that ranking system is sh*t. For ur information, only took me 14 chap to drop that novel. U can know how sh*t is the ranking system just by the fact that ETCL is around 400, Tsukigamichio is around 500-600, demon lackery and Kidnapped dragon are around 200-300 last time i check them.😂

Ill try to list everything i can remember. 1.reincanator. 2.oracle path. 3.paragon of sin. 4.im the fated villain. 5.swear fealty to me my subject.😏 6.my divine diary. 7.star Odyssey. 8.deep sea ember(havent read this) 9.im not the regressor(haven't read) 10.this game is too realistic. Epik. 11.evade the hero(remake). A legend. 12.dungeon defense.😏 And i just realized that good novel r so lacked of. Its hard af to find a decent and serious novel now.

      What are you talking about? This is low rankings lol. There are at least 20 novels if not more that are worse than it yet ranked higher. Some of these novels are in the top 20 too lol

        Rank 73 is still pretty high though. That's what I am trying to say. I have read some novels that are ranked between 150-300 and are still arguably better than most of the higher ranking ones( Atleast the ones I have read). People are truly basic.

        I mean the fact that ss has been rank 1 for so long is the biggest proof. Even if people enjoy it, its quality is at most top 5 imho. I think if the upload frequency ever drops itll fizzle out like ri and lotm has. So like top 10

        My favourite novels and my highest quality novels are different. For example, my highest quality novel would prob be lotm but my fav novel is martial peak which wouldnt even be top 50 probably in quality. Also idk if i can name 8 since my memory has been stretched thin. But if you really want to know just say whether its favourites, or highest quality. Idk if i can do both

        Ill try my best 1. Martial peak (only eead 3500 chaps) 2. Supremacy games (dropped around 1350. Plan on rereading some time) 3. The beginning after the end (dropped 100-101 chapters before current chap. Im stacking but with how long uploads take i basically dropped) 4. Lord of the mysteries (only read 100 chaps, havent gotten to rereading yet) 5. Hmmm martial world i guess? Only read 750 chapters 6. 7. 8. Some of my fav novels for 6 7 and 8 are either forgotten, or also my least favourite novels at the same time as my favourite, such as super gene. Yeah i cant really name 8. Im sure im forgetting some. Ig perfect run was good but i forget it mostly
